Hello
Welcome to the Paint by Anya website, a vibrant space where colors burst forth and creativity flourishes without restraint! Here, you can explore my most recent collection of artwork, and if you're feeling a bit nostalgic, I invite you to take a look at the Art Archive, which showcases some of my earlier works. To make your browsing experience even more enjoyable, I've thoughtfully organized the current paintings into various categories—because even in the world of art, a little organization can go a long way! Have a wonderful time exploring all that this site has to offer!
Artist Statement
Painting has always been a passion of mine, with emphasis on oils, as they make any painting full of color and rich. At times my approach is spontaneous if inks and liquid acrylics settle the right way on canvas. At times its is planned, looking or creating source materials prior to painting. I only paint beautiful things—objects and moments you see every day but might overlook. My art invites you to appreciate these often-ignored aspects of life and see their charm anew.
Artist Bio
Anya was born in Siberia, Russia - one of the coldest places on Earth. In her teens, she immigrated to North America for greater opportunity this country has to offer. Anya kicked off her artistic journey as a kid, thanks to her dad, a professional artist. Since then, she dabbled in art classes at local colleges in the San Francisco Bay Area. After she received her MBA in Management from University of Phoenix, she got married and had three wonderful children. She continued to paint even through these great but time-challenging times. She wrapped up a year-long Milan Mastery program online in 2024.
Anya's early style was all about realism, with a little Van Gogh flair and bright colors, as well as influence by the warm and light shown by Thomas Kinkade, but after a year of online schooling at Milan Mastery program, her art has morphed into something even fancier: abstract realism! Now, her masterpieces explode intricate textures, vibrant colors, and bold contrasts, all thanks to her trusty mixed-media toolkit. Its collages, acrylics, gold and silver leaf (because why not add a little bling?), metallic paints, spray paints, modeling paste, clay, stencils and of course, beloved oils.
Anya says that "my artwork touches many people in the vibrancy of color and the warm it exhibits throughout".
Currently her family has a guinea pig Marshmallow and a cat Spot, dreaming of owning a dog once again, like she had in her childhood in Russia. Anya loves all of cat family, which shows in her artwork completely by painting lions, tigers, cheetahs and pumas. She loves how cuddlable and dangerous they look at the same time.
Having a business degree is extremely helpful in organizing her artwork and anything pertaining to it. Her current studio is on the ground floor of her South Bay house, it's open year around and very prolific, overlooking the fruit garden for inspiration. In the future Anya plans to travel with her family throughout Mediterranean and continue to paint.
